Perfect Nanny Cam
Todays ever advancing world of technology, especially in the market of spy equipment, has given parents a more efficient way of making sure their children are safe with a little device known as a nanny cam. A nanny cam is type of hidden spy camera, which allows parents, who work, to check in on the nannys or babysitters they have watching over their children. Even if you have heard of or seen nanny cams and you think that these cameras are a perfect way to keep tabs on your nannys, you may have no clue as to how to choose the perfect nanny cam for your situation. Not to worry though, with few tips and a little research, you will be well on your way to learning how to choose the perfect nanny cam.
The fist thing you need to know about choosing the perfect nanny cam is what is actually available on the market today. Generally, there are three categories or types of nanny cams to consider and these three categories are as follows:
- Wired Nanny Cams: This is a type of camera that is directly connected, through a cable or wire, to the device that is recording the images. While you will always be able to depend on this type of nanny cam, it is difficult to hide them. Therefore, this option is best for those of you who do not care if the camera and/or recording device is seen or known about.
- Wireless Nanny Cams: Similar to wireless hidden cameras, these types of nanny cams use a transmitter, which is the camera itself, and a receiver, such as a VCR or TV, to send and record the images viewed by the camera. There are many advantages to going wireless, one being that the camera and the receiver can be different rooms. Another reason why opting to go wireless is useful is because wireless nanny cams are easily hidden. In fact, you can purchase these types of cameras hidden in everyday objects, such as a clock or a toy.
- Nanny Cams that are IP based: IP based means that you can obtain the images recorded through the internet because the nanny cam comes preinstalled with a web server. These types of cameras, just as the wireless versions, can be hidden easily, but the data is more accessible.
To further your hunt for the perfect nanny cam, you need to consider why you want one. This means you need to think carefully about what you will be using the spy camera for, besides just spying on the nanny. Considering what you will be using the camera for entails considering which rooms in your home you would like a nanny cam in, if you need to hear and see what is going on with your nanny, and if you want the cameras hidden or in plain sight. Considering these types of things will drastically narrow your search through the vast array of nanny cams. After you consider how and why you will be using the nanny cams, you may want to consider some of the following options:
- As already stated, you need to consider if you want the ability to hear what is going on as well as see what your nanny is doing. If you think it is necessary to hear, you will need to search for a nanny cam with audio capabilities.
- You also need to consider if you want your nanny cam to record in low lighting. When you are searching for spy cameras, you will come across a technical term LUX. This is what allows cameras to record in little to know light. If it is necessary that your cameras be able to record in low light, then you need a nanny cam with a low number of LUX. Remember, the lower the LUX, the better your nanny cam will record in low lights.
- The purpose of having a nanny cam is so that you can keep an eye on your nanny; this means you need to make sure that the camera you purchase is versatile. Being versatile means that if you need to move the nanny cam, it will fit into any surrounding. This also means that you will be to easily clean it and change the batteries, when necessary. Moreover, being versatile means that the hidden camerawill be easy to maintain.
- One last thing that is very important to consider is how much the nanny cam costs. This means that you will need to create a budget, consider what functions are most important on the camera and then research different hidden cameras, from different companies, to find the perfect nanny cam to fit your needs a budget. Doing this ensures you are getting the best possible camera at the best possible price.

Just a thought here. These wireless camera detectors detect at either 900 megahertz,1.4 and up to 2.4 ghz. What about the 5.8 ghz range? Can one modify the present wireless video camera detectors to include this higher range? Please let me know. Any and all responses would be apprectiated.
